Troglor (stylized as TΓOGLOΓ) is a minor character in Smiling Friends who makes his first appearance in "Gwimbly: Definitive Remastered Enhanced Extended Edition DX 4K (Anniversary Director’s Cut)." He is the new mascot of Insane Groundbreaking Games, replacing Gwimbly and serving as the IGBG CEO's partner in crime.
Appearance[]
Troglor is a giant hulking humanoid with dark blue skin, red eyes, and a skull-like face. Covering his body is green armor and his right arm has been converted into a cannon which is capable of shooting lasers. He also has a giant alien skull of unidentified origin as part of his armor.
Role in episode[]
The CEO tells Gwimbly that he is "old" and "outdated" and introduces him, Pim, and Allan to Troglor, the new mascot of IGBG. He shoots a laser in the CEO's office in an attempt to intimidate the trio, but the CEO tells him off. When they leave, the CEO jumps onto Troglor's back and follows them.
Later, when the trio are mourning Mr. Millipede's death, Troglor and the CEO ambush them and chase them all the way back to the office where Charlie is getting antagonized by James. The CEO orders him to kill James, but Troglor is confused as he was told not to shoot inside earlier. James seizes this opportunity to stab the CEO in the head, killing him. After the CEO's demise, he and Gwimbly bury the hatchet and decide to produce a new video game together.
Trivia[]
- His design is a composite parody of several different characters: Master Chief, colonel radec, the Doomslayer, Samus Aran, and the Space Marines from Warhammer 40k.
- Moreso, his name may be a reference to Trogdor the Burninator, a character from Homestar Runner.
- He also shares his name with a creature from the 2008 video game Spore, though this may be a coincidence.
- He is presumably inspired by popular video game characters who are still relevant like Mario, Sonic, Donkey Kong, Kirby, etc.
