The Purple Dust is a bizarre, recurring substance throughout Smiling Friends. It is implied to be a very dense and addictive depressant, though there is no definitive explanation about its true nature in the show. Additionally, it is also unknown whether the different instances of purple dust appearing are in fact the same substance, although it can be inferred.

In "Mr. Frog," Mr. Frog is shown to ingest Purple Dust while shooting guns in his shooting range, likely contributing to his manic and destructive behavior. When Pim takes the Purple Dust away from Mr. Frog, he loses all of his spirit and energy, preventing him from performing menial tasks.
In "Enchanted Forest," the Witch blows Purple Dust onto the faces of Charlie and Pim. This causes them to fall unconscious and be taken captive by the Witch.

In "The Magical Red Jewel (aka Tyler Gets Fired)," when Jason is reborn and becomes a butterfly, he releases a continuous cloud of Purple Dust that slowly causes the room to fall apart and all the main characters to freak out. It makes everyone start coughing, irritates Pim's eyes, impairs Charlie's vision, and causes various objects to break apart.
