Hello. I know the world is very angry at me right now for my behavior, but I just wanted to say from the bottom of my heart that I’m sorry.
—Mr. Frog, "Mr. Frog"
Hello. I'm Mr. Frog, this is my show, I eat the bug! (eats the bug) I ate the bug, this is the end, I love you!
—Mr. Frog's catchphrase in his show.

Mr. Frog is a recurring character in Smiling Friends and the primary focus of the episode of the same name. He is the titular star of his iconic and long-running show and the president-elect of the United States as of 2024, defeating President Jimble by one vote. He is considered "one of the richest and most powerful men on the planet." He has a verbal tic that causes him to say "hello" to people, even midway through conversation with someone he's previously met.

Appearance[]

Mr. Frog is a medium-sized green character with a humanoid body, long arms, and flipper-like hands and feet. He has small eyes, two small nostrils, a wide mouth and large dark green lips. He has no head, as his face is on his torso. He is only seen in brown shorts over the course of the series.

Personality[]

Mr. Frog is a highly unpredictable, hyperactive, and impulsive individual, often violent towards his coworkers and fans, along with the general public. He's shown committing numerous atrocities throughout the series, including swallowing a TMZ reporter whole, flipping a car over, beating a woman's head in, destroying property, eating children, disintegrating people with bombs, and polluting rivers with toxic waste. He does these things haphazardly and with a smile on his face, either enjoying them or being completely disassociated from reality.

He doesn't seem to care about the consequences of his actions, as he feels no remorse and will bluntly state his opinion, such as when he nonchalantly went on a racist tirade during his appearance on Jimmy Fallon. He also claims matter-of-factly that he is "not sorry" about previously consuming a TMZ reporter, and later choked out a fan of his for believing that he insulted him, when in reality he only wanted a picture. He is also somewhat incompetent, as he misunderstands basic premises and social cues.

He heavily uses drugs, which may contribute to his manic and destructive behavior. He readily accepts drugs from a variety of sources, as Charlie supplies him many of his uncle’s medications to try and control his mood swings, causing him to take out his energy in a shooting range. Mr. Frog is now dependent on the drugs to function normally, and he becomes decrepit and ill when forced to quit cold turkey by Charlie and Pim.

When not on stage, Mr. Frog tends to keep to himself, choosing to lounge about in his mansion and watch Jimmy Fallon clips on YouTube, which he claims is the only thing he does all day.

Despite these flaws, Mr. Frog does have some redeeming qualities. He remains a genuinely polite and friendly individual, and he does appreciate his fans, as their acknowledgment and cheers make him smile. He also has some capacity for self-reflection, eventually choosing on his own to apologize for his behavior. He also showed genuine discomfort when he accidentally cut off a woman's hand with a giant check he attempted to donate (this was after he went cold turkey and became erratic). On the other hand, his fan-base likes his capacity for impulsive violence, cheering vigorously when he eats his former manager (who was arrogant, selfish and manipulative himself), even the fan who Mr. Frog had previously assaulted. He also took the presidential debate against Jimble very seriously, as he was displeased at being unprofessionally cut off by the debate moderators.
