HBO Max (formerly Max) is a streaming service owned by Warner Bros. Discovery. Launched on May 27, 2020[1]. the service primarily streams content produced by HBO, Warner Bros., and other related properties. On May 23, 2023, it was then rebranded to Max. Later on July 9, 2025 the name returned to HBO Max.
Unlike Adult Swim, since it is a streaming service, it has the uncensored versions of episodes on the service, which does not censor the word "fuck" whenever a character says it with an expectation of Desmond's Big Day Out.
The first season of Smiling Friends was added to HBO Max on February 9, 2022.
The special, "The Smiling Friends Go to Brazil!", was added to HBO Max on August 7, 2022.[2]
As of Season Two, Episodes of Smiling Friends are added the day after they premiere on Adult Swim.
