Hello I'm Daniel the Demonslayer; I slay demons so you don't have to.
—Daniel the Demonslayer, Erm, the Boss Finds Love?

Daniel the Demonslayer is a minor character from Smiling Friends who appears in "Erm, the Boss Finds Love?"

Appearance[]

Daniel is a middle-aged adult male with thick, straight shoulder-length hair, as well as an anchor beard and cheek whiskers. He wears a black hat and a matching leather coat. He notably wears an excessive amount of black eyeliner, as well as a giant crucifix necklace.

Personality[]

Daniel appears to be a benevolent person, having wholly dedicating his career to purging demons from the world. He also uses many typical YouTuber tactics, such as including a sponsored ad before getting into the meat of the video, as well as including a "like, subscribe and hit the bell icon" rally at the end. His demonology advice is shown to be rather accurate, implying he's very experienced in his field of work.

Trivia[]

  • Daniel is portrayed by his inspiration, Doug Walker, also known as Nostalgia Critic. Doug is someone who Zach Hadel and his circle of friends have been avid fans of for years, which is likely why he took the role. Doug did a review of the first season of Smiling Friends, which can be viewed here.
    • The introduction in Daniel's video is a reference to how Doug's character, the Nostalgia Critic, usually starts his videos.
    • Daniel plugs Dollar Shave Club in his video, a sponsor Doug has had in various Nostalgia Critic videos.
