Smiling Friends Wiki

The Building Inspector was a character that only appeared in Silly Samuel. He featured to conduct a random inspection on the Smiling Friends Inc. building to make sure it's up to code, much to Mr. Boss's dismay.

Appearance[]

The Building Inspector was an elderly critter with a beige-grey suit, beige tie and black shoes. He also carried a clipboard with which he presumably carried out various inspections at the behest of the city. He was very small of stature and moved slightly unsteadily, especially exhibiting trembling in his hands and arms, characteristic of the extremely elderly.

Personality[]

A stereotype of an elderly man, he was softly spoken and fairly polite. Despite his status as an official of Meep County, he was shown to have a sense of humour- in fact, he seemed to enjoy the strange and whacky aspects of the Smiling Friends Inc. office so much that he allowed it to pass the inspection despite the building being poorly maintained and borderline illegal. His sense of humour and friendliness were emphasised when he asked Mr. Boss and Allan to be his best friends, apparently having enjoyed his time with them.

Role[]

The Building Inspector served as a sort of antagonist within the episode Silly Samuel’s B-plot. He appeared at the Smiling Friends Inc. office building in order to conduct a random inspection as Pim and Charlie were helping Silly Samuel. This led to panicked efforts from Mr. Boss and Allan to disguise the shoddy state of the building, which eventually led to their ‘failure’ of the inspection. The Building Inspector, however, allowed them to pass the inspection simply on the basis that he had a good time in their company. He then spontaneously disintegrated as Pim and Charlie returned.
