I think the main problem with family guy is that it relies too much on edgy humor and shock value

Now, i’m not saying edgy humor or shock value is bad, but when you rely too much on it it gets old INCREDIBLY fast

Like, for example look at the joke in the new episode with Charile and King Shmaloogle, it was out of nowhere but it was funny and didn’t feel out of place

Then you got herbert trying to say some insane shit to chris that comes out of no where, it feels out of place, meanwhile the smiling friend joke actually fits in with it’s plot (And this is coming from someone who thinks family guy can be funny (kinda)

Adam west is an exception cause while he was random, he wasn’t overly inappropriate to the point it got old
